Immediate release of all flotilla participants
The Australian Government must publicly condemn this kidnapping and treat it as a war crime.
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Foreign Minister Penny Wong must demand the immediate release of all participants, their safe passage to Gaza and call for an independent international investigation.
The Israeli Embassy must explain who authorised the attack and why unarmed humanitarians have been abducted and detained.

I am writing to you in outrage and alarm at the illegal attack and detention of the humanitarian flotilla and its participants. The flotilla is a civilian mission carrying food, medicine and unarmed volunteers, including Australians.

The detention of unarmed volunteers delivering lifesaving aid is a grave violation of international law and must be called out for what it is: a war crime. Previous flotilla participants have reported harsh treatment from Israeli forces - including torture, physical and sexual violence. As an elected public official, the welfare of Australian citizens is one of your fundamental duties.

As a constituent I demand you act now in line with Australia's obligations and international law and immediately:
- demand the unconditional release of all 11 Australian citizens and all detained humanitarian volunteers
- publicly condemn this attack and detention for what it is - a war crime
- call for and support an independent international investigation into the attack, including the actors responsible, and the blocking of humanitarian aid to Palestinians in Gaza
- use all available diplomatic and practical means to protect Australian citizens involved in humanitarian relief
- and crucially end Australia's export of weapons parts to Israel which enable the bombing of Palestinian people in Gaza, which makes Australia complicit in the commission of genocide.

Humanitarian workers are not targets. Kidnapping civilians transporting food and medicine must not be tolerated. Australia has a legal and moral duty to protect its citizens and to uphold international law — silence or inaction is complicity.
